Cheesy Spot – For burgers and cheese lovers

Namaskaaram!

As a family, we make it a point to go for lunch or dinner together at least once a month. Due to the extended weekend last week, we had the opportunity to hangout for lunch at one of the most unique places in Thiruvalla. The place is Cheesy Spot and it is THE SPOT if you are a cheese lover!

Even before the items on the menu catch your attention, the ambience and the interior design of the place is sure to surprise you. So much care and attention have been given to present the guests with a great time that we saw people from all age groups hanging around. Some of them were lounging there for quite some time, it seemed. The wall art, decorations, book stands, lamps, a motorcycle up on the wall and graffiti of various shapes, colours and sizes are sure to give you a feeling of walking into a hip and happening place. Though the place is usually frequented by youngsters for hanging out, we could see many families (just like us), who had come to enjoy a good meal. The lounge music they played while we were there was soothing and it complimented the cool temperature inside the building quite well.

The menu is an absolute delight to look at. The different kinds of burgers, pastas and mocktails/mojitos are all to die for!

We ordered the following:

  • Chicken Desi Tikka Burger
  • Chicken Caribbean Cheesy Burger
  • Cheesy Beast Burger (Chicken & Beef)
  • Alfredo Chicken Pasta
  • Chicken Nuggets
  • An assortment of mocktails/mojitos/shakes

A must try for any burger and cheese fan is their “Pull-me-up” option for any burger of your choosing. For a small additional charge, they provide you with a small container on top of your burger, which you are then required to (you guessed it right!) pull up. The sheer visual ecstasy of watching the liquid cheese slowly flowing down onto all sides of the burger is worth the wait and money. Trust us, you should try it out!

As mentioned earlier, we visited them on a weekend and during peak lunch hours, expecting a lot of delay. We were served inside 30 minutes, which we think is quite decent when it comes to a restaurant during the peak hours.

Their customer service is as good as their food! From the moment you walk in, they make you feel at home. Since we had already reserved a table and had reached before the lunch crowd had started coming in, we were even given the option to choose the table we wanted to be seated at. In case any of the dishes are getting delayed, they make it a point to come and update you. And finally, the smile and the ‘thank you’ with which they send you away are more than enough to head back to the spot for another visit. The owner (Mr. Vaishakh) is very approachable and we saw many guests discussing different matters with him (including us).

P.S. – We were told by Mr. Vaishakh that they have opened a new spot in Kottayam as well. We should probably hit that spot sometime soon and check it out.

Appo kaanam! (See you!)
